Welcome to Vistula Class

Vistula class have been working hard in Term 2 and having lots of fun.

In English, we read Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. We learned the story using Talk for Writing before being authors and writing our own versions of the story. We have also read The Great Explorer and enjoyed finding out about Tom’s adventure in the North Pole.

In Maths, we have learned to identify and name 2D and 3D shapes and have been focusing on the numbers to 20. We have looked at teen numbers and can work out how many tens and ones they have. We have been ordering numbers from the greatest to the least.

In Topic we have found out about the Arctic and Antarctic. We explored Inuit life in the Arctic and had the chance to see some Innuit objects on our visit to the Horniman museum.

In Science, we have been finding out about everyday materials and their properties.

Our favourite things this term were:

Charlie: I enjoyed maths because I like working out numbers

Shaqeel: I like reading because it’s fun and I like reading books.

Zayna: I enjoyed reading the Great Explorer in English

Arianna: I love English because we get to learn lots of different things about what we’re reading.
