Welcome to Seine class!
In Seine class we love following our four key characteristics of learning: We collaborate, we persevere, we try our hardest and we are always ready for learning! By following our class charter we ensure that we always produce fantastic outcomes!
We enjoy working hard in all areas of the curriculum and are looking forward to starting our new topic ‘The land before time – Dinosaurs’ in Term 3.
Last term, we thoroughly enjoyed our ‘Deep Freeze’ topic and produced some excellent work on explorers, The Arctic and The Antarctica. We even modelled our own Inuit sledges with plastercine huskies in Art and Design. Our trip to the Horniman Museum gave us the opportunity to develop our knowledge on our topic even further.
In maths we worked hard to understand difficult concepts such as place value up to 20 as well as learning many 2D and 3D shapes. We also preserved when learning different methods for addition and subtraction within 20.
In science, we were finding out about everyday materials and their properties through various experiments. We also enjoyed our RIBA workshops and designed and made some amazing architectures!
Here were some of our top moments from last term:
Finley: ‘My favourite bit was when we went to the Horniman and did science things there!’
Bertie: ‘I loved getting gems in our pot so we could go to the Horniman.’
Clarabelle: ‘Last term I liked English because I learnt a lot like adjectives.’
Matheus: ‘I loved the Horniman because we saw amazing fish!’
Amika: ‘I liked singing with Miss Dooley the best!’
Filip: ‘I liked doing PE because I love sport.’
